D2 Carbon Fiber Trim Production – part 3

Got the final pieces for the D2 set clearcoated.  Now these just need to sit for a little bit to have the clearcoat cure and then all the little imperfections can be wetsanded and polished out.  These last few pieces were pretty complex, looking forward to see what they look like installed.

New gallery added…

Just got done with Greg’s S4 gallery.  Trim turned out great.  The rest of the gallery and some info on Greg’s car can be found here.

If you’re a current customer and would like your car added to our gallery, feel free to contact us.

Couple of quick teaser shots of a yellow carbon kevlar set

This set still needs to be wetsanded and polished, but it turned out pretty solid.  I’m really enjoying all these custom sets that people are ordering.

Stay tuned for more images of this set, it’s going in a monster widebody Imola S4.

D2 A8 Carbon Fiber Trim Production – part 2

Was finally able to find some time to make some progress on this D2 A8 set.  I got the bulk of it clearcoated (I believe there are two large center console pieces that still need to be clearcoated, but they had some chips around the edges that needed to be fixed so they will be clearcoated in the next run).  These pieces are far from finished as there are a lot of imperfections that need to be wetsanded and polished out, but I am pretty happy with this set.

I think I will be selling the D2 platform at $800, but this first set will probably be discounted because I’m not 100% sure how well everything will fit.  Some pieces might need to be repaired or replaced as I figure out the nuances of the D2 and how much wiggle room I have to get the pieces to fit correctly.

Custom B5 interior trim with 4×4 twill…

Finished this set a few days ago and finally found the time to post some pics of it.  It turned out way better than I expected and has really grown on me.  The 4×4 twill is commonly seen on high-end supercars, like the Pagani Zonda and the Koenigsegg CCX.

A close up of the weave.  4×4 twill is similar to 2×2 twill in that they are the same type of weave (twill).  They differ in how they are woven.  4×4 goes over 4 threads and then under 4 threads, where as 2×2 is over 2 threads and then under two threads.

A few side by side shots so you can see the differences.  They are similar, but drastically different.

I’d love to continue to make more custom sets like this one, so if you’ve got a special fiber in mind for your set, feel free to contact me.
