- What makes oCarbon special?
Simply put: Quality. Attention to detail and superior craftsmanship is our core belief at oCarbon. We don't rush parts, run blowout sales, or try to beat our competitors on price alone - instead, we focus on the quality, and let our work sell itself. Our customers frequently tell us it was worth the wait to have their interior trim professionally crafted at oCarbon, and how glad they are they came to us.
oCarbon has over 6 years of experience creating the finest quality carbon fiber products, and over that time the quality of our work has become industry leading. We personally oversee every detail and treat each piece like a work of art. The finished product is OEM quality, often for half the price of buying the OEM carbon fiber trim (if it's even available for your car), and you get the opportunity to choose the weight, weave, and color of your fiber if you'd like.
At oCarbon, our goal is to exceed your expectations, and you can see our in our Photo Gallery that we have many satisfied customers that have sent us pictures to show off how proud and thrilled they are with the finished product.
- What makes carbon fiber special?
Carbon fiber is a very unique textile. When dry, it is no different from any other type of woven fabric. However, when the appropriate resins are mixed together and applied to the fabric, the carbon fiber becomes very rigid once cured. The result is like no other material on earth; it is stronger than steel, lighter than aluminum, and stiffer than titanium.
Aside from its weight advantages and its structural integrity, when manufactured correctly it can be quite stunning in appearance. The simplistic beauty of the weave with a deep gloss shine above it makes it appealing to even those with no knowledge of its strong, lightweight properties.
- How does real carbon fiber trim by oCarbon compare to carbon fiber vinyl or stickers?
There really is no comparison. Although carbon fiber is expensive (see below), the brilliant shine, deep and rich texture, and extremely detailed and unique patterns created by real carbon fiber is something that is striking in real life, but totally lost in vinyl imitations. Vinyl patterns lack the deep, rich finish, and look “too perfect” to be real – you can spot that the vinyl imitations nearly instantly.
oCarbon makes products for hardcore enthusiasts that demand the highest quality parts for their car; for our customers, putting a carbon fiber sticker over their trim is simply not good enough. It's all about your standards, and willingness to pay for the real thing, but to us, having carbon fiber vinyl is like having a fake Rolex.
- Why are carbon fiber products so expensive?
There are many factors, but the main reason is time and effort. It takes a skilled carbon fiber fabricator many hours of extremely detailed oriented work to create a finished part, especially when aesthetics are important. From laying the fiber and getting the weave perfectly straight, to the chemistry involved with mixing the resins, the many hours spent block sanding a part smooth, and the final buffing and polishing for a brilliant shine, there is a lot of man hours that go into making a carbon fiber part.
Additionally, oCarbon sources only the highest quality clear coats, resins, and carbon fiber to produce your parts, and all of these products do come at a significant cost. We'd rather charge more for a product that is worth it than try to cheap out with lackluster clear coats, poor resins, thin and imperfectly woven fiber, or other shortcuts. In the end, you get what you pay for, and our many satisfied customers would agree it was well worth the investment. No shortcuts and no compromises is part of oCarbon's core belief: Attention to detail and superior craftsmanship reign supreme.
- What does OEM mean?
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. When we say we guarantee OEM fitment, you can be sure that our products are designed to the exact specifications of the original part and will install with the same precision that the original part had from the factory without any modifications or fitment issues.
- What is a "core charge"?
Each carbon fiber interior set produced by oCarbon utilizes OEM interior trim to ensure a perfect fit and finish. In order to use OEM parts, we require that you provide us with your car's current set of trim so that we may wrap it in carbon fiber for either your car, or a future customer. You have two options for making the trim exchange:
- Send us your trim first, and a carbon fiber set will be delivered to you once complete based on the set you provide, or;
- Provide a deposit in lieu of your trim, which we will use to buy an OEM set of interior trim to wrap in carbon fiber. Once your finished set has arrived, you can then send us back your original, undamaged set for a refund of your deposit, and we will use your former OEM set for a future customer. The deposit amount varies depending on your model, so please email us for more details.
- Can I install my products myself?
If you can use a screwdriver and have a general working knowledge of your car, chances are that you can install our parts with no issues. We designed all of our products with you in mind to make it as easy as possible to install them. We've also provided install guides with pictures for all the parts we sell. You can find the appropriate installation guide for each part on its product information page. If one does not exist for your car, please let us know, and we'd be happy to help you along the way, and will try to create a guide for your car in the future.
- Why don't you have finished trim sets in stock?
Our products are in very high demand. It's hard for us to keep items in stock as they sell very quickly. We do our best to maintain our website to show you when we have items in stock, but for the most part we rarely have any finished trim sets in stock. We prefer to build each set to order, allowing you to customize the weight, color, and weave of your set to your preferences, as well as complete any custom parts like seatbacks or other parts you'd like done.
- How long will it take to complete my order?
A typical set usually takes 2-3 weeks from the date the OEM trim is received until your carbon fiber set is done and ready to be shipped back to you. Depending on the complexity of the order, current workload, and other factors, this time estimate may vary; however, for most orders everything is typically finished within 2-3 weeks, so expect to be without your trim for that long. Our new order tracking system will provide periodic updates on the status of your trim and estimated completion date as well.
- Can I check the status of my order online?
Yes - we have a unique online order tracking system that is currently in beta. The order tracker will also provide an estimated completion date for your set based on eleven major milestones, from the initial preparation, to applying resin to harden the carbon fiber, to the final buffing for a brilliant shine. At each milestone of the manufacturing process, an oCarbon associate will update the order tracker and include pictures and information as relevant. Please be advised that this system can only provide a rough estimate of when your trim will be complete, which is based on the average completion time of each step of an average set. Each of these steps could potentially take less (or more) time depending on the complexity of the piece as well as other factors – currently, the order tracker is in beta and we hope to continually improve the system to provide more accurate completion estimates in the future. If you notice any issues or have any feedback on the order tracking system, please send us an email.
- Do you do engine covers or other pieces for the engine bay?
No. Pieces in the engine bay are exposed to excessive amounts of heat. This heat will cause the carbon fiber parts to yellow, and sometimes even become brittle or warped. Because we can't guarantee the finish and quality of carbon fiber products in the engine bay, we have decided not to do any engine parts – our focus on craftsmanship and quality dictates that we only sell products we can stand behind, and we simply cannot do that for carbon fiber parts in the engine bay.
- What options do I have when ordering my set?
We have many options available. Most of our customers opt for the standard weight, weave, and color; however, we can customize your order from mild to extreme. Check out our various custom projects on the oCarbon blog. If you are interested in doing something different from the standard finish, please email us so we can provide a detailed list of available options. We are constantly searching for new weaves and finishes to continually innovate in the automotive carbon fiber space, so this list below may not always be current.
Weave – how the opposing strands of carbon fiber are woven together.
- Standard: 2x2 twill weave
- Optional: 4x4 twill weave, plain weave and various others
Color – the alternating color of the weave besides black. This alternating color is achieved
with a dyed kevlar fabric as carbon fiber can not be dyed.
- Standard: 100% Carbon Fiber (black)
- Optional: Many colors are available, please email us for an up-to-date inventory or special requests and we can look into ordering custom colors for you. Some previous customer examples include Red, Orange and Yellow. Please be advised that with some colors, 11oz or 20oz weight is unavailable for purchase in the market, so 6oz weight will be used; however, we will ensure that the weave pattern is perfect and that the end product will not suffer.
Weight – the thickness of the carbon fiber weave. While most of our competitors use a
standard 6 oz weave, oCarbon uses 11 oz fiber as standard – just one of the many ways we
place quality first. Higher weight means a more consistent weave and a deeper, richer

- Do you offer a warranty?
While most carbon fiber product manufacturers are afraid to warranty their parts because they use inferior quality materials, we stand behind our products. We offer a full replacement warranty on everything we sell for one year. If your product fades or yellows give us a call and we'll replace it for free. This warranty only covers workmanship and quality and does not cover normal wear and tear issues like scratches or breakage due to improper installation.
- What if I wish to return my order?
In the unlikely event that you wish to return your order you have the option to do so. However, we have strict guidelines on how a return must be handled. Please view our terms on how to proceed with a return.
