I decided to go with the 20oz 2×2 twill, after some hesitation because I wasn’t certain if the fabric would be too thick for the complex curves of the D3 A8. The shifter piece and the speedometer piece with their intricacies worried me the most. The thicker fabric is much harder to work with on […]
It’s been a while since I’ve had some time to make some blog posts (I’ve been sick the last few weeks) but I have a bunch of stuff to post over the next week or two. Lately, I’ve had some customers ask me about the difference between 20oz and 11oz 2×2 twill. I took a […]
Made some progress on my friend’s D3 A8/S8 trim. The resin is applied to the majority of the set and will spend the next few days curing. After its cured, I can trim off all the excess, start sanding it smooth, and getting the pieces ready for clearcoat. I’m a little behind on the dash […]
A friend of mine recently acquired a D3 S8. Before he picked it up he got a hold of me to if I could do something about the wood trim. I spent some time getting a few D3 cores shipped over from Germany so I could take care of him. These pics are of the […]
I’ve been working on this set for a long time now, but I wanted to make sure it was perfect since it’s for a friend of mine. He got one of my 5.6oz 2×2 twill sets a little over 2 years ago and was looking for a change. Originally I attempted a silver texalium set […]
Just got a few pictures from David of his B8 beltline trim installed. I still have a few more pieces to finish up and get them sent off to him, so I’ll be adding more pictures to his gallery once he gets the shifter piece and the vent/MMI pieces. Full gallery with a few more […]
Someone bought the production D2 A8 set yesterday, so I started wetsanding and polishing some pieces from it (it worked out kind of nice because I’m currently wetsanding and polishing about 10 other things). Unfortunately, the owner has an S8 and this set was made for an A8L, so some of the pieces will need […]
all polished up. The colors seem a little weird in the photos, but I think it’s just my camera and the poor florescent lighting in the shop. Hopefully when I get some installed pics of the set in the car in natural lighting the color will be much more uniform.
Got the final pieces for the D2 set clearcoated. Now these just need to sit for a little bit to have the clearcoat cure and then all the little imperfections can be wetsanded and polished out. These last few pieces were pretty complex, looking forward to see what they look like installed.
Just got done with Greg’s S4 gallery. Trim turned out great. The rest of the gallery and some info on Greg’s car can be found here. If you’re a current customer and would like your car added to our gallery, feel free to contact us.
This set still needs to be wetsanded and polished, but it turned out pretty solid. I’m really enjoying all these custom sets that people are ordering. Stay tuned for more images of this set, it’s going in a monster widebody Imola S4.
Was finally able to find some time to make some progress on this D2 A8 set. I got the bulk of it clearcoated (I believe there are two large center console pieces that still need to be clearcoated, but they had some chips around the edges that needed to be fixed so they will be […]
